Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains what Docket collects, how it is used, and how to remove it.
What Docket collects
- Your Google account basics: your name, email address, and profile picture, used to sign you in and show who is signed in.
- Google Drive access: a Google authorization token, stored encrypted, that lets Docket create folders and upload files in your Drive. Docket requests only the
drive.file permission, which limits it to files and folders Docket itself created — it cannot see or change anything else in your Drive.
- Documents you scan or import: the images or PDF you submit, and the details read from them (such as merchant, date, amount, category, notes, the last four digits of a card number, and the cardholder name you choose).
- Settings you enter: folder and file-naming preferences, and the names of household members you add for assigning credit cards.
- Access requests: Docket is private. If you sign in before the owner has approved you, only your name, email address, and profile picture are kept, so the owner can approve or decline you.
How it is used
- Document images are sent to Anthropic's Claude service to read the document's details. They are not used for any other purpose.
- Filed documents are uploaded to your own Google Drive.
- Docket's server, hosted on Google Cloud, keeps the document details and a reduced-size copy of the first page so the app can show your library. Full-size page images are kept only until the document is filed or deleted, then removed from the server.
- A copy of the server's database is backed up once a day to private Google Cloud storage and kept for 30 days.
What Docket does not do
- It does not sell your data or share it with anyone beyond the two services above (Google, for sign-in and Drive; Anthropic, for reading documents).
- It does not show ads or use your data for advertising.
- Docket's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Removing your data
- Deleting a document in the app removes it from Docket's server. Files already in your Google Drive stay there until you delete them yourself.
- You can revoke Docket's access to your Google account at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- To have all of your Docket data deleted, email mendelgancz@gmail.com.
